Yeah, kinda similar to Mulder. I would expect that he's on a pitch count at the very least. Way too many question marks in this game for my taste...

The Braves didn't want to jinx Hampton so they didn't tell him he was starting the game Saturday til Friday afternoon according to the Braves website.
Hampton strained a pectoral muscle 10 minutes before his April 3 start.
I'm an all-out Braves fan. I'm loyal to my team, I won't bet against them but if I had to pick a winner, it'd be Philly. -240 is something I wouldn't touch regardless though. Braves are like 2-8 vs them this year. Braves don't have consistant hitting. I know Citizens is a hitters park but the story for the Braves this year is score big one game, then the offense will take the next 4 or 5 games off. I don't think Chippers playing tomorrow. They just put up 8 so the chance they'll do it 2 games in a row is about 54264329487723 to 1, and Hampton is a lock to get stung by a bee by the 4th inning and will need season-ending surgery for it because he tried to swat at the bee and tore some ligaments, then he'll tear his hamstring because he tried running for cover but tripped over his shoelace, he faceplanted into the ground so he'll now need plastic surgery for his newly broken nose. He can afford it because he's pitched something like 69 1/3 innings for Atlanta and Atlanta's paid him close to $47 million for his 12 starts.
So I think the question is can the Braves bullpen outpitch Hamels tomorrow? Doubt it.
Then again, maybe the Braves will play hard tomorrow because rumor has it Bobby Cox is wanting to buy at the deadline and Jason Bay has been a whispered name and morale might be up. Oh ya, if it's close, Lidge has struggled vs Atlanta this year. I'm too lazy to look the numbers up, but just an FYI. Heck, just stay away from this game unless you can bet that Hampton will get injured. It's a 500,000,000,000,000 unit garanteed lock. Hamptons the anti-Ripken.

Chipper not gonna play. Hamels is tough. Braves struggle against LH pitching. Hampton hasn't pitched in a major league game in 2+ years. Hampton might just be what the Phillies need to get out of their funk...
Gonna take a small flyer with the Phillies on the run line (and I'm not a big run line guy)...

jj,
unless Hampton hurts himself warming up (which is a distinct possibility), I don't see anyway for this game to stay under.
GL tho...

Bobby Cox will win tomorrow. Phillies are in a tailspin and the only game they won lately is a 9th inning miracle against the Mets. I've never seen Braves at +202 the last 15 years. If Hampton struggles the bullpen will win the game. Braves are on a mission to sweep in this trip.

This game is a real question mark.. I wanna play phillies on the runline but how they made Joel Pinero and Padre Martinez look like superstars when they came to philly, makes me quiver..It will be funny if Hampton shuts down the whole Phillies offense. That will be the joke of the year..
