They've been doing that for years in the CFL. I assume it's like sportsbooks advertising on Euro soccer teams., like bwin for AC Milan.

yeah in europe betting companies sponsor professional sports teams, no biggie

in fact that is how I started gambling, interwetten was sponsoring my team which had their logo on their shirts, so I thought i would register, just to support the sponsor, turned 10 euros into 2200 in 2 weeks, got hooked ever since (of coarse I went on tilt and lost the 2200 before withdrawing)
