Online Gambling: The Betting Is Easy, But Collecting??
Hope you all had a great gambling day...I didn't and to top it off for the second time in my life I click the wrong team for one of my wagers and lost 3 units (found out mid-game)

Anyway, I thought I'd share two articles I came across on CNBC's website regarding the payment issues some of our D- patrons are experiencing. Have a good night guys and see you tommorow.

    and the follow-up

Very interesting read. The fact that media outlets such as CNBC are reporting on slow/no pay books can only be a good thing.

I like it they (US govt) are going to wake up and realize one day that they are costing themselve billions of dollars in tax revenue while the national debt grows at a tremendous rate and finally give in and do what they should of from the beginning, it is well documented that the clowns who sponsored UIGEA have received sizable donations from Horse Racing and Vegas casinos, they are doing nothing other then what 99% of politicians do, hurting our country and citizens to pad their own reelection bids

I said exactly the same yesterday, the Iraq war could be the best thing that ever happened for gamblers because one way or another that money needs to be recouped somehow.

people sit at home and watch an episode of intervention or read a story about a kid killing himself because he lost everything and then see these politicians come up and say Gambling is horrible and we need to ban it and get rid of it lalala and the people say yes thats a good man he is moral and gambling is bad lets vote for him and while this happens the commercial thats playing on the screen saying I so and so Joe politician got legislation passed to protect our families from gambling is being paid for by funds donated from vegas and the National thorough bread association the proble with America is that the majority of the country has no clue about the real world they got to school and believe everything their told and watch the news and believe everything they are told, Ignorance really is bliss to these people, I don't know how people go through life not searching out their own opinions and what the truth is, everything is smoke and mirrors you only see what they want you to see unless you look at things with several perspectives and choose which one makes the most sense to you

Its good that its getting mainstream coverage, but the coverage is just so shitty it hardly seems worth it. Seriously, theyd have been better off sending a link to a site like SBR and letting those interested actually get some insight on the subject.

I'm from a country where there is a gambling shop on every High-Street and the biggest irony for me, as someone looking in from the outside,is the politicians will tell you it's morally corrupt....unless you go to Vegas, Atlantic City, an Indian reservation, a riverboat, a racetrack, 7-11 to play the lotto or buy a scratcher, Etc Etc Etc. the hypocrisy is incredible.

Finally, a media story that is accurate. The author obviously spends time on message boards and knows what he's talking about.

As for the US realizing the money they could reap with legalized gambling, they still will never do it. Never. The politicians would let the country go bankrupt, even if they were presented clear evidence that legalizing online gambling could, let's say, wipe out the national debt in a few years. They'd still never do it. That's because the politicians are so corrupt and crooked, they only care about their own wealth, which they have enough of. They don't care about the country.

Every way they want you to play is a losing proposition whereas every way they ban has a far better probability, sports betting is no different then investing in stocks IMO, you can make long term investments such as a teams future bet or short term by betting a game in a day, it involves skill and research and expertise, Lotto is 100% luck, vegas- by the time your there your already losing because of gas/airfare and 99% of what you''ll be playing has a good size house advantage, racetrack although has been kind to me recently winning 3500 in past 2 weeks I did the long term math and am down over 20k over the past 4 years the tracks take out is huge, its unbelievable I don't know how we let them get so much power to be able to destroy our freedom

To me the odds and different gambling oppurtunities are irrelevent. The way i see it, as soon as you let someone walk into a casino in Vegas and bet on an MLB game but don't give a guy sat in Wyoming the same oppurtunity to do the same thing by pressing a button it's censorship and hypocrisy. Makes me sick.

I really hope the government doesn't regulate for a while. After I get my MBA I don't see what stopping me from making my own website.
