why would he be fired or expected to step down? he isn't the one striking out with the game on the line or failing to get hits with the bases juiced and less than 2 outs. His overpaid players that he is saddled with are to blame. You could make a case for the GM getting shitcanned for making horrible player deals over the years but there is no just cause for Girardi to go anywhere.
With that said, any day a Yankee team goes down in flames is a good day in my book. They over spend year in and year out which has "bought" many championships over the years due to an unfair capital advantage over 90% of the other MLB teams so it brings a BIG smile to my face when Yankee nation flames out.
