Why make bets using computer?

When the book uses it against you by changing lines? If you call in your bets, once you get the line it is good as long as you dont change the subject. But if you try online, they can give you a message that the line has changed anytime before confirmation. Hence, making your bets online is not beneficial.

By the way, the vast majority of online books will not do what you are describing.

Also, I have had books refuse to give me the line that they just read me on more than one occasion over the phone.

In general, phone-ins give the bookmaker more time to make sure that their line is not off-market before taking your bet.
