Exactly. Sully would go down with the ship. This guy goes down to Chelsea Pier. There was still someone inside the helicopter when he decided to swim for it. It didn't sink yet. It was flipped over.

where is it written that he has to save anyone. they were dumb enough to get onto a helicopter to save time to go nowhere important so they wouldn't get stuck in traffic. they should have figured the risk/reward ratio for doing it. tough toenails.
