I don't think Europe is as glamorous and chic as people make out. Language barrier, food difference, different pace of life. Just my opinion.

Well, just an outsider looking in, but the league just seems a little corrupt particularly in the playoffs, the investigations now etc. Stern has always been shady in my eyes, plus if the money is comparable elsewhere and the other life stuff makes sense, it's not too shocking IMO.

Childress turns down $36 million guaranteed from the Hawks, the contract is better but still with decent investing he would have over 100 million from NBA contracts

The tv contracts in places like Serbia, Russia and Italy are getting bigger and bigger in the Euro NBA, lots of spare cash sloshing around.

Just from my perspective if I was a player I would want NBA stats and titles, I would not even care much if I won the Euro title, or whether I had 100 mil or 150 mil when I died.

In Europe, they play 26 regular season games compared to 82 in NBA.
In Europe, they play four 10 min quarters compared to four 12 in NBA.
In Europe, Childress will be paid $2M a year more.
In Europe, Childress will be a superstar due to weak competition.

these euro's pay amounts are after tax.... so much more money
