i would like to see some new rules in baseball
I am getting sick of watching games for 3 or 4 hours (sometimes even longer). So I would like to see some new rules implemented.

I have two different solutions for speeding the game up.
    a) limit each inning to exactly 5 minutes for each team. I mean when the first batter reaches the plate the team has exactly 5 minutes to bat. even in that case i would like to see the 3 out rule. the pitcher should not be given more than 10 seconds between pitches. in case he takes more time the team will get a 30 second penalty. That means each team has exactly 45 minutes for batting per game.
    b) another possibility would be there aren`t more than 3 batters per inning. even if some guy gets a hit he is the first out. so the teams have to go for homeruns or doubles.
    c) another rule would be that after a team hits a homerun they can tell the other team to rest one of their players for one inning. that would make the game way more interesting. imagine a team has three homeruns in an inning - then they can tell the other team to rest 1st, 2nd and 3rd baseman for one inning. you would see much more runs in each game.
    d) video replays. Each team can ask for 3 reviews of plays in each game
    e) games will be played even when it is raining. why is there a rainout rule? these guys are earning millions and act like pussies.
    f) get rid of these useless first base, second base and third base coaches. no one needs them during the games. a players has to decide if he has a chance to reach an extra base or not. these guys look like clowns.
    g) no relievers anymore. the guy who starts a game has to finish it. he can only be taken out due to an injury.
    h) at least a two league system. the teams has to play for something. not just for reaching the playoffs. they even need a relegation system. the worst four teams of the league play out a playdown. one team gets relegated and the best team of league B gets promoted.
    i) a team belongs to a town. no more movements to other towns anymore. if they are in financial trouble they have to find a way to sort it out. how can fans identify with their team when there is always a chance the team can be moved to another town.

I called Bud Selig and he said he will have them get rid of the second base coaches on your advice

should get rid of pitchers and just use pitching machines...... teams can remote control telling the machine wat pitch to throw next

            speed up the game probably.

guys, he's saying this half in jest and half in serious. i used to love baseball growing up but after reaching the teenage years, only football, basketball, boxing and tennis can keep my attention. baseball is just too damn slow for an a.d.d guy like me, speed the damn game up so i can watch more baseball instead of just sportscenter highlights!

Interesting, especially since the number of players claiming they are ADD has risen the past couple of years so they can be eligible for the drugs (i.e., speed).

If they speed the game up, it will mean taking away some of the commercials, and if they take away some of the commercials, fewer games will be televised meaning you still won't be able to watch as much.

How about a rule that if your bat breaks and almost hits an infielder, they can use it to stab you with it as you run by.

another question for you guys. I love watching the nhl. i am following hockey here in germany for around 25 years and since they broadcast the nhl live here in europe i watched the games. however i am still wondering about the commercial timeouts. is there an exact timeframe given when they have to stop the play for a commercial or is it the refs decision when he stops it? however i don`t like that. Lets say one team makes some pressure on the goal of the other team then the play stops and the other team has enough time to regroup and make some adjustments.

about commercials in general. some guy mentioned that there will be less revenue if they speed up the mlb games and use less commercials. don´t you guys think especially mlb players are way overpaid. even i can wait some 30 minutes or so until i have to bet or wait 5 minutes until some ball flies to my position in the outfield. don´t get me wrong. i like watching baseball - however the games take way to long to finish and there are so many less than average players playing in the mlb (and they are way overpaid). always keep in mind that these guys are just playing a ballgame for us. compare their income to our average income. don`t you think that they earn way too much money. i mean i have no problem with players earning 1.000.000 or so but earning 6.000.000 or more in any sport like baseball, football, soccer, basketball is a joke. remember - it is just a ballgame. most of us played ballgames and these guys just have the privilege to be better than we are. is this really a reason to pay them such a lot of money? a manager or broker gets a great income but he has a lot of responsibilities. what are their responsibilities? just score a goal, throw, catch or hit a ball etc.

Stick to german porn. Baseball is too complicated for you to comprehend. They are running around in circles. Imagine if they only gave them a soccer ball and asked them to dribble around the bases as they run and shoot the ball at the catcher's chest in order to score a run.
