I am getting sick of watching games for 3 or 4 hours (sometimes even longer). So I would like to see some new rules implemented.
I have two different solutions for speeding the game up.
a) limit each inning to exactly 5 minutes for each team. I mean when the first batter reaches the plate the team has exactly 5 minutes to bat. even in that case i would like to see the 3 out rule. the pitcher should not be given more than 10 seconds between pitches. in case he takes more time the team will get a 30 second penalty. That means each team has exactly 45 minutes for batting per game.
b) another possibility would be there aren`t more than 3 batters per inning. even if some guy gets a hit he is the first out. so the teams have to go for homeruns or doubles.
c) another rule would be that after a team hits a homerun they can tell the other team to rest one of their players for one inning. that would make the game way more interesting. imagine a team has three homeruns in an inning - then they can tell the other team to rest 1st, 2nd and 3rd baseman for one inning. you would see much more runs in each game.
d) video replays. Each team can ask for 3 reviews of plays in each game
e) games will be played even when it is raining. why is there a rainout rule? these guys are earning millions and act like pussies.
f) get rid of these useless first base, second base and third base coaches. no one needs them during the games. a players has to decide if he has a chance to reach an extra base or not. these guys look like clowns.
g) no relievers anymore. the guy who starts a game has to finish it. he can only be taken out due to an injury.
h) at least a two league system. the teams has to play for something. not just for reaching the playoffs. they even need a relegation system. the worst four teams of the league play out a playdown. one team gets relegated and the best team of league B gets promoted.
i) a team belongs to a town. no more movements to other towns anymore. if they are in financial trouble they have to find a way to sort it out. how can fans identify with their team when there is always a chance the team can be moved to another town.
