I agree. Yanks don't have the pitching. All that money spent and no pitching. Pretty crappy.

tigers might repeat what they did to yanks last time they met in playoffs. lose game 1 big and then sneak a win in new york before rolling in detroit.

How has this loser not blown a save yet???
He gets luckier than any closer in the league. It seems like he always walks the lead off guy gives up a double. Gets the next guy to line out. Then walks the bases loaded. Then gets the next guy to line into a double play or something....
I swear, anytime I bet on Detroit this year he always made me sweat it out. It didn't really seem like he pitched out of jams either. It was more like the opposing teams hitting rockets right at the defense so they could turn double plays and such.

I hate his celebration he does. He has been very good recently, but average overall.

Rough outing tonight, but he got it done.
It would have seemed a little smoother at least if Avila wouldn't have slipped on the on-deck circle trying to catch the popup.
Lots of his pitches were barely missing and he could have easily gotten the call on a few.
You don't go 49/49 in saves without being great. I've seen every one of his saves this season, and I've probably sweated out 3 or 4 of them max.
Even Rivera has blown 5 saves this season...
I love his passion and his dances are awesome haha. He probably won't be available tomorrow though

He is right. Verlander wins tonight and then Yankees have AJ Burnett to save the season in a must win game. Tiger stadium is a fortress.

Tiger Stadium was extremely hitter friendly. Comerica is very pitcher friendly. Pretty sure you are just getting the names mixed up though.

He's a shaky closer with a big mouth. How can you take any of this into account for betting?

Shaky? Hasn't blown a save in over 45 attempts this season. Thas 100%.
Yesterday he looked weary, but was pitching with a 4run non-save situation.

yes it was a brillant season for Verlander but lets be real. does he pitch well in last two games? (Orioles game and Yankee game1 first inning) I have some concerns about him and no play for me. I might take a small bet Over 7
Meanwhile yes Valverde has good numbers too this season but just curious what will happend if he join in 8th when bases loaded. he always allows some walks or double.I can't remember his 1-2-3 quick inning in this season.

It's been interesting to see how other teams react to Valverde's antics...most give him the long look before meandering back to the dugout. Others, such as ex M Milton Bradley, who has had "mental problems" looked as though they're on the verge of creating a situation. I bet if Bradley were on the Indians or White Sox, there could have been some fireworks. Personally, I don't care for routine...it's a little too much. We'll be looking forward to tonight's game.
