I am a Yankee fan, but take a look at CC's numbers vs. the Tigers..not good at all. I wouldn't touch this game. Detroit hit .320 off of CC this year and CC has a 5.91 ERA vs. the Tigers from 2008-2010. Detroit seems to be the one team that CC has trouble with.

Lol, throw it out the window, and into my backyard please. Aside from a few notable instances pitchers do not (can not) necessarily turn it on because its the playoffs....especially not already established all-stars. More often than not they let people down or continue as normal (which in this case is sub-par against the tigers).

Okay then what about CC's career 4.66 ERA in the postseason? In 2009 he was great but other than that he hasn't faired very well.

I didn't touch either game. I was just letting the OP know why the Yanks are a very risky play tonight. And no, numbers wouldn't have told me not to play the Rays because I have seen how good Matt Moore can be, and just like the NYY/DET game I wouldn't bet on either side.
