I've lost almost 25% in the past 6 months from when I peaked, but I don't wanna get out now and have it as a loss. It's still only a bit down to when I got in the market two years ago so maybe I should just bail. 90% of my money is in the market, doesn't seem smart but I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to this stuff.

I'll bump this thread in 12 months when essentially nothing will be different. Same people will be yelling the sky is falling any day now. And then 12 months from then. Same.

In 2010 it took ~$561 to buy what could be bought for $100 in the year 1970.
In 2010 it took ~$265 to buy what could be bought for $100 in the year 1980.
In 2010 it took ~$167 to buy what could be bought for $100 in the year 1990.
In 2010 it took ~$127 to buy what could be bought for $100 in the year 2000.

The Increase in salary for the vast majority of people has come nowhere close the inflation rate.
This inflation will continue.
So when you say essentially nothing will be different, in a sense you are right....the dollar will continue to lose purchasing power.

If you are lookinng for a short gain, you will never find it. No one in here has enough money to control the market, and that is what it takes. I am investing in Real Estate for my children. The area that I live in is starting to see a small reversal. Nothing major, but one property identical in size to a purchase that I made last month sold for $16,000.00 more than I paid for my property in the exact same tract. Other smaller properties all have asking proces of between $7,000.00 and $22,000.00 more than I paid for the property that I purchased. These properties are all single family housing units. Now this is nothing earth shaking, but it is a signal that the housing market may be slowly reversing.
