If your neighbor drops his wallet, do you return it?
Or is it about the money?
It really comes down to honor, he doesn't even know what that is...watch the interview he had earlier in the locker room.

Like that he admits it or not it's still a dikk move.
Classless crap that denigrates the spirit of the game.

Considering it was a bunt single I'm sure he'd thought this thru for a few days thinking it would have a chance to happen
What a shltbag

Bad move. Especially since it may have been his last game with Mets and fans were there to see him play. That being said, the last month of the season, after his hammy issues, he has rested most day games after night games. He totally blew the context of what he was doing, but he is not a guy trying to thumb his nose at history, he's just......hmmmm....a happy go lucky simpleton. Again, bad move, but don't demonize the kid.
Cobb, Boggs, Madlock....many others have been accused of this.

You realize he is going to sign for over 100 million no matter what happened today..
if someone told you, "don't hit anymore today and i'll give you 1 million dollars" would you do it?" i can't blame the guy.

He is playing the game fellas. Either you play it, or it plays you.
Now the real laugher will be who is going to overpay him? Then deal with a $100+ million ball player who will only play half of the games during the season.

This I don't get. A lead off hitter speedster bunting for a hit! How dare he! Far cry from a gimme rebound on your own basket.
The point of contention is him leaving the game early protecting the batting title (something done various times in the history of the game). I am on the record as not liking the move. He had been regularly rested in day games after night games the last month of season due to his hammy, prolly should have just sat it out if he didn't intend on playing past first at bat....people can be quite sensitive.

LOL, such bull shit. Braun deserved it a lot more, he has played with an injury all year didn't miss many PA at all, Reyes missed weeks at a time. Oh well though Braun Will have an MVP trophy on his shelf, who the **** cares about some meaningless Batting Title.
I would love to see Fielder and Braun winning co-mvps, but from my understanding the bothing process is different then what I thought it was so its basically impossible. But I think its Clear that braun deserves it more, even with Fielders 3 HRS yesterday. Braun has 30+HRs 30SB+ 100 RBI+ 330 avg. This is with him having an injury, which I think had to have effected his power numbers a little. Who knows, he maybe have challenged for the triple crown this year like Kemp did.

Reyes took the coward's way out. I'm with OP 100% on this. If you can't win it outright, you're not the champ
