I ran a red light.

It's pretty innocuous I admit, but the back story is pretty good.

Me and a couple of buddies were out getting ****** up one Saturday night. We rolled back to a friend's house in Santa Monica in the Ocean Park area to smoke a little and hit some bars on Main street. We decide that we will roll some long boards down to the bars instead of bikes or walking.

So we are up at the top of a very large hill that has a ton of cars and isn't optimal for skating, but we've done it before so not a huge deal. We start off and I borrow one of my buddy's new boards and the thing feels awesome. It was on rails and I was at my prime peak of intoxication just pumping this bad boy down the hill.

We cut over a street on 4th to slow down a bit before we hit the busy area and I'm just like **** it, this thing is handling like a vette, I don't need to slow down. So I drop in on Hill street just carving the shit out of this thing when I start picking up wayyyyy more speed than I wanted to.

I try to carve some big turns to slow down, but the board is not really cooperating and I am starting to wobble a bit. So I straighten out and think about jumping off but I am literally doing at least 25 mph in flip flops and board shorts. I will end up in the hospital if I crash or jump off.

At the intersection of Hill St and Main there is a light. I look up and it is green and I am flying down the road at a speed that I can't say I have ever traveled on a skateboard. The light turns yellow and I am still a solid 50 yards until I hit the intersection. I am freaking out thinking I am going to die at this point as there were no options at this point except to shoot the intersection. The light turns red and I make it into the intersection a second later and literally miss getting hit by inches. I make it across the street with my heart pounding like a mother and realize how close I was to getting mashed.

Then we went to the bar.

Is the statute of limitations in affect for something that took place in 82?I was 170 pounds back then and could run and scale fences believe it or not.Me and a high school coach friend got drunk in Green Bay during friggin training camp.At 2 am we climbed the Packers practice field fence and we hit the sleds,dummies etc.for 15 minutes before stealing a sh&t load of pads and such.When we got out,we stole a couple Lombardi Avenue street signs.This was 82 before the NFL experience took off where only 30 people probably worked for the Packers from secretaries,janitors,accountant.etc.No spy hidden cams back then.You didn't even think of surveilance back then.My how things have changed.If I did it now,I would have had a heart attack.Not that the Packers were good back then but anyone could have brought a football to the front office for the team to sign and they would do it.
