Is this true? God I hope not -- it sounds like a DLeague or WNBA team.

Besides, don't team names have to end with an -s? Can you imagine the announcer... "HERE COME...THE THUNDERS!!"

Richard Jefferson got owned by Arenas today in his blog -- but I bet RJeff is glad he's not a THUNDER.

I guess THUNDER is an irregular nominal declension... the plural is still THUNDER...? Must be like WATER (where the singular form is the same as the plural form).

Its just unusual. If the Lakers or Jazz or Clippers were new nicknames they would sound way worse than thunder
