During the NBA and NFL drafts I am sick and tired of hearing about somebody's "wingspan". I have yet to see wingspan win a single game in either sports, probably just as irrevelent as reach in boxing.

I'm watching The Early Show on CBS (because there are only so many times I can see yesterdays sports highlights repeated on ESPN)
anyway, CBS is interviewing Republican campaign guru Ed Rollins, who rattled off (I counted) 6 "at the end of the days" in what had to be a 4 minute piece.

Three out of the six 'at the end of the day' that he used didn't even belong, he was just saying it to sound 2011. I haven't cringed so much in weeks.

Any one who uses one word or phase to much has got a small vocabulary and is trying to impress some one else with a cute word since they dont know what the fukk there really talking about.

"Walk off" is another one.
"Walk off" was OK the first 100 times I heard it in context, but now the sports anchors seem to use the term for the sake of using it.

One of the empty suited weekend sports news guy on Sunday said "Markakis (I think it was Markakis) walk off homer in the top of the ninth...."

Umm, you can't hit a walkoff anything if your team is the visitor in the top of the ninth. It's a tie breaking, or go ahead homer, but not a walk off.
In order for anything to be a walk off, it has to come from the home team.
