I thought this would be an interesting topic. For those that have gone to GA what gambling horror stories have been told? I have some, so here is one. This one guy who has been going for 13 years said he took his employers weekly bankroll to pay it workers and went to Atlantic City. He started playing baccaret and almost lost it all. He had a big swing and was actually up $10,000. He then proceeded to piss all of the money away. I can't remember if he got in trouble with the law, but this situation is not a good one to be in. It probably turned his life around in a good way.

I lived in Biloxi for 3 years and almost every week you would read in the papers of someone getting arrested for embezzlement.
The worst I saw was a bank president who embezzled $750,000 to cover his losses at the casinos. Only time I lived in a casino town and was unreal the amount of embezzlement cases there.
Also had a friend who at the time I never knew even gambled , got arrested for bank robbery. He was in real deep to some bookies and robbed not 1 but 9 banks before getting caught in the Atlanta area. It was quite a shock to all that knew him.

My wife was a Mortgage processor. One day my cousin went to her and asked if she can help "a friend" get a loan. As it turns out the "friend" was an elder gentlemen who was in the hole for 30k to a bookie my cousin was picking up for. They told this old man they would blow his head off and the stress put the old timer in the hospital with a heart attack. The bookie cut the old fart a break and settled on 15k to call it even. my wife processed the loan for the old guy. Thats fvcked up I know.Comment -
20 years ago I went to GA meeting...yada yada yada...Four of us ended up back at my place for a 20 hour poker game.

The last time I went to a new meeting (new group) there was a overweight guy next to me. It was his turn to talk in the meeting. Before talking he said the last time he gambled was 9 months blah, blah. He starts telling this story of how he had a close call. He went to get gas and also asked for 2 $5 instant lottery tickets. He paid. He then started to cry and ripped the tickets up and left.
The funny thing is, I saw this same guy and the racetrack the prior week. I know he was betting horses because he was at a self bet machine for like 10 minutes and I was behind him.
I never went back after this meeting.Comment -
