Yes, there are "addons" for mozilla firefox that will download the video file (flash) to your computer.

choose youtube from the pulldown menu

hit download and a download box will come up with a couple of links, you can save in .flv format, right click save target as, in the name field erase all the gibberish and give it a name and end it in .flv
