I'm guessing the country is the most white out of all the African countries. I'm watching the WSOP Main Event final table on ESPN right now and the Rahme guy is from there. The World Cup will be hosted in South Africa in 2010 so i'm guessing it must be safe? Maybe someone on SBR lives there but I doubt it.

I lived in Cape Town for awhile. Not only is it a beautiful city, but it is also relatively safe if you don't act like an idiot. Johannesburg is another matter altogether -- a good place to visit if you want to be killed!
And you don't need a decent income -- at 6 rand to the dollar (it was 11 when I lived there), you will live quite nicely ... winery of Stellenbosch just an hour away ... beachside club called La Med, where backpackers, models, cricket players and the like all hang out together ... Table Mountain and the thirty ways it can be climbed ... the port area with the clock tower for a day of people watching ... partying on Long Street ... space cookies available at the Purple Turtle ... Robben Island to see man's inhumanity to man, as well as the all-black neighborhoods, letting you know apartheid ain't quite dead yet ...

Johannesburg, no. Cape Town/Durban, yes. Durban is the most English speaking. Cape Town and others are more Afrikaans and then of course Xhosa and Zulu, among others, are widely spoken as well.Comment -

I watch South African horse racing on HRTV and the tracks there look nice.The Dutch and English will always have some influence there.It's a beautiful country scenery wise.I know a couple guys that travel around the world putting drills together for the mining industry and they say crime is out of control there where yes,whites are singled out.Comment -

I like the Zulus. Very friendly people. They had me sit in their jacuzzi and even threw some vegetables in the tub while I was relaxing. Then the water temperature in the jacuzzi all of a sudden got very hot and someone threw an oar in the water and started stirring it.Comment -
