Thoughts on Hooters Casino in Vegas?Rated high by you?Good comps, lots of free beer.
To anyone that has ever gone to Hooters Casino in Vegas, what are your thoughts on it?I was there on a super busy NFL playoff weekend where there were tons of 21-30 year olds.I swear it's the lowest per capita betting-gambling casino in Vegas. All the guys were doing was watching the game, watching the eye candy and sucking down free beer.Speaking of which, the cans are few and are small and it had to be an oversight in planning.

They do give good comps though.I heard it's common for them to send lots of free rooms in the mail etc.to very low rollers. They are generous comping beer too.I rate it high!

I like Hooters. I go there probably 2-3 times a week. I know a lot of the people that work there. Good people. Fast cocktail waitresses. If you play poker there, you can get some really inexpensive rates on rooms as well (generally about $40 on weekdays). The slots are pretty loose. So are the poker tables, if you don't mind a little $1-$2 NL action. The sportsbook is Leroys so they have decent juice and odds. The drawback is they don't have many TVs or comfortable seating for watching games. The pool usually draws a few head-turners as well...

Monkey how is living in Vegas? I've asked a few people and most say there's no middle ground you either love it or hate it.

That deal fell through. They couldn't get the proper financing for it. They were offering far too much ($260 million) for the place anyway. It was an offer Hooters couldn't refuse but they couldn't honor. Hooters will be around for the foreseeable future. Even though it is mismanaged...

I'm here out of necessity actually. I play poker for a living and there's no better place than here to play. That being said, I do like it here. There are plenty of good people here and the cost of living here is reasonable. The drawbacks are obviously the distractions you can find yourself involved in. It can be very easy to blow a lot of money here so you have to keep your focus and be strong-willed to survive here, especially the gambling types. The weather isn't very desirable either. Its toocold in the winter and far too hot in the summer. Overall, I'd say I like it but I probably won't remain here for more than 5-7 years. Oh.. Did I mention there is a plentitude of gorgeous girls here? Beware of the hookers though...

Good advice what limits do you usually play in poker?

I live in south FL and it's very difficult to find a 5 - 10 table, I usually play the 2 - 5 but it's still ridiculous because they limit you to a $100 max buy in. What are the buy in limits like in Vegas?

Yeah I heard that about Florida. Lots of people just sit down and shove to a get playable stack. No max at many casinos here. Depends on the casino, however...

How much do you usually buy in for and what casinos do you play at most?

Usually $3k on a no max $5-$10 table ($1000 on max) or $1500 on $2-$5 ($500 on max).
