    Another worthless Favre thread
Anyone catch his interview on FOX with Greta Van Susteren?

With him speaking out finally, one of two things will happen.

Rodgers waits another year, or Favre is traded. He's going to create even more pressure on GB with himself finally speaking to the media, etc.

I really hope Green Bay don't break. Keep Rogers as the starter, and let this chump back up if he wants.

No way Green Bay management backs down now. Favre has been playing them for to long and they're finally sick of it. Now, Favre is crying because he knows it. Favre made his bed, now he can lay in it.

I used to pull for favre, not as a real packer fan but i just liked to see a guy like him win. The more times he "retires" the more i dislike him, it pretty much at a hate level now

I still can't help but love the guy. I hope he wears a Packer jersey next year in a starting role. No idea how this is a tough choice for the Packers. A Hall of Fame QB at the helm again or an unproven backup taking the snaps. Really baffles me...

Give the fans from the rest of country what we wanna see:

Brett Favre on the Minnesota Vikings on the night of his jersey retirement ceremony on Monday Night Football

The Packers have been pressuring Brett to "retire" for the past several years. They would not have made the the playoffs last year without him. I think they way they have treated him is shabby at best. I wonder how the fans (who love Brett with good reason) will react to this? I mean, let's face it. The Pack was mired in mediocrity until he arrived. His enthusiam and sheer love of the game made even their bad games fun to watch.

                      Looker,
The Packers are NOT going to give Brett 13 million to carry a clipboard. They're just not.
And they don't really want him back either. The first time Rodgers struggles, and he's going to struggle as a first year starter, the Packers don't want Brett on the sidelines with the crowd screaming for Brett. That is a QB controversy that the Packers just can't afford.
The Packers want Brett to just go away. But that doesn't seem likely either. Since they won't grant him his release, they'll wind up trading him.

                      Doc

I have a better chance of being the backup to Aaron Rodgers than does Brett Favre come opening night.....

I agree, except about the part about the Packers treating Favre shabby. All they wanted to know is if he'll be back for training camp, i.e. not retiring. Also, they needed to know before the draft, so they can plan their future. Favre feeling pressured by this basic request is childish. He had months to decide. I am not in his shoes, but sheesh, just level with the team, are you in or are you out. It's hard to not think he's playing games at this point...

As for what will happen here: The Packers will take Favre back, and he'll start from week 1. But the scrutiny if Favre falters in the least will be immense.
