greyhound racing ruined by greedy bastards
Mile High Greyhound in Colorado is finished. I spent the first 5 years of my gambling career at that mother****er. There was 4 tracks at in the state in 92 when i started, all closed.
I've hardly been there in the last few years. The greedy bastards rose their takeout to even more ridiculous levels. Handle dropped, nobody showed up. I do love the sport of racing and the game of handicapping them, and am upset at the direction it went. I know, nobody cares. The corporations suck all the blood out of everything good. They don't care, just move on to the next thing they can ruin.

Slots make the electric rabbit go 'round. West Virginia now pays the highest purses for greyhounds, more than Florida, more than Texas, more than everyone. Wheeling Downs is great dog racing with decent handle. Thank you casinos.

Add Bluff Run to this list.

I have a friend that owns dogs that run at the Bluffs and
he is making some nice money.

i was at bluffs run last year. the place is kind of a dump. it is attached to a new casino. the handles were small. I will look into wheeling downs. as far as i know Derby Lane does 3-400,000, which is fair. If you know of any tracks doing the right things, like having a little respect for the bettors, lowering takeout or loyalty programs I would like to hear about it.
          Thanx

I figure they still want the horse otb, so they have to keep it going, a farce that it is.
