Local is hurting me, any advice?
Guys, I have this local who everytime I win a bet with him he tries to take out like $25 or $30. Anytime that I complain about it or even bring up the topic he is like "Are you scalping or something?" I always say no. I don't want to admit to something like that. What would a local do if they found out?

But obviously, him taking a little out is making scalping unprofitable unless his side loses. The problem is his side wins about 50 percent and overall, I am losing money doing this.

It really does seem to be illogical to be bickering with him over $20 or $30 when I have "won" $1000. At least it would be to him and that's the problem. It makes me look like a scalper if I have an issue with money that small.

You are dumb to put up with it. Why is he taking the money out? I wouldn't use him.

Tell him your headed elsewhere, even if you cant find another local right away. There is no reason to put up with that, especially when you can go online and play with a book that will give you 15% or more of your deposit and pay in full when you win

He's just taking the standard 2-3% gratuity. You obviously weren't tipping your bookie properly.

I've never normally tipped a book in my life. Some nice grub on the holidays, maybe, but never $. Unless, of course, he does you special favors sometimes, alerts you to a bad line, or if he knows a line is changing and he tells you to (correctly) wait or something. Or perhaps if he turns his $ in to a larger operation and takes your slip a bit late or the like.

What doe she care if you are scalping or not ? He "advertises" a line and you take it. He has fulfilled his need to take action. What's the difference if it is you or Haywood Jablomi ?

Just a little joke about the tipping.

I have no idea what your bookie is doing.

Even if you aren't scalping it's idiotic to let him do this. He's basically taking all of your EV.

i have went through a lot a shitty locals before i found the dude i have had for a while now, and he don't even live close to Louisville, he's closer to Lexington, but he is solid, dude lets me take whatever the average line is on the internet, cause he knows i'm on it, he's old school, don't even know shit about computers, plus he calls me to get results for horses sometimes.

i used to us a wannabe bookie at one of my local bars for a couple years, but he was trash, only let you play NFL or College football or college basketball, that was all, and the college games had to be teams from the big 6 power conferences, like i couldn't play Utah St. vs. E.Wash.
plus dude knew who was UofL or UofK fans and would always try and stiff you a point or two.
