Soccer 101: What's the sharp play?
As you know soccer betting can be three way or two way. The following is a hypothetical scenario to determine what's the best play from a gambler's perspective:

    Three Way Betting:

    Team A +150
    Team B +150
    Draw +200

    Two way (Asian Handicap):
    Team A: pk -120
    Team B: pk -120

If I am willing to bet $200 on either system three way or two way, what's the sharp play to guarantee profit assuming I like Team A but I want to cover my self against the draw?

Bet $100 on Team A and $100 on Draw to guarantee $50 or $100 profit (If Team A doesn't lose)

    or

Bet $200 Team A pk to either win $166.67 or push (If Team A doesn't lose)

I'd pick a book which doesn't average around 10% hold.

I made up the odds. Make them -110 if you like. I think it's a question regarding risk management.

Our coach is right, unless the draw has more than 33.3% chance, in which case simply betting the draw is a good thing.

Actually, jjgold thought he was replying to the "what's your best sexual experience" thread.

Does anyone without a GED post here? Read the question! It's two different scenarios. What's the sharp play of the two plays?

(1/3)*166.67+(1/3)*-100=22.22, which is greater than 0

coach is right, two way asian

But if the game ends in a draw you get 0 with asian whereas with three way you get 100.

                    Is 50 or 100, better than 166.67 or 0?

The answer is simple. If the game ends in a win for Team A asian is better. If the game ends in a draw three way is better.

Ask Deuce. It took him 5 years to get his after failing as a senior hockey player.

you don't need a GED to be a sharp. highschool math is overrated...it is all about intuition.
