He will blow it off.
Remember when all the referee's were interviewed the first time ? He had to change the rules since over half had broke the offense that would lead to firing and the other half had broke lesser rules.

be hard to prove though
If this is the only guy he called a lot then something to it but if he called all refs before and after games it might of been general chatter about game, the only other explanation is they had a legit business together but I doubt it.

I think Donaghy and Foster are lovers. Just because they call each other before and after games does not mean is gambling related.

I think that's his best line of defence to be honest.

My point is that unless they wiretap the conversations they have no case. He can use that as a defense.

Especially if it was a "new" relationship. When you first fall in love with someone, you want to call them 50 times a day. If you call them once, it's perfectly appropriate to call them again 2 minutes later, "just to say hi" in baby talk, or "just to hear your voice" or anything like that. A gambling link will never stick.

Tim Donaghy, Scott Foster, and who knows how many more were involved.....When it's all said and done this is David Stern's league he should be held accountable. In fact this whole this is so crooked I wouldn't be surprised is David Stern was the mastermind behind the whole operation. Keep trying to bury these allegations and bury the league with them. The NBA is a fking disgrace....the only professional basketball I'll be betting this year will be in Beijing with NO NBA REFEREES!

Not necessairly true, Pavy...If there is a paper trail of money, then the "we're lovers" defense isn't going to get them very far...
