which one would it be? I would do the Alfred Hitchcock movie "Shadow of a Doubt". Its about a serial killer who runs from the law and hides out at his sister's house with her family who have no clue. His niece adores him, until she starts to uncover the truth about him. Since it was made in the 40's, its really timid. But what a great story line. I'd make it dark as hell and cast Gary Oldman as the Uncle and Scarlett Johanson as the neice.

I feel none of them have truly done a good good job with a zombie movies....
Most zombie movies are C movies that get a bump up because everyone wants to go see a zombie flick...then they realize the plot/story basically sucks and its always about people meeting, loving each other and trying to live the rest of there lives running from zombies and staying alive together...Comment -

The Day After ..... that movie scared the hell outta me when I was a kid. Maybe instead of the Soviets nuking us, they could make it the North Koreans or Iranians.
Another one is Red Dawn..... gave me nightmares.

One of my favorites, Ganch, not sure I want to see that one remade. I'm afraid that Hollywood would try something stupid like letting that Frank TV dude play every part.
Panic and Badfinger have good lists of ones NOT to remake going, to which I'd add 12 Angry Men and Casablanca, two more classics.Comment -
