Times change. Yes manufacturing jobs have steadily declined over the last 20-30 years, however, look how many more jobs have been created from the birth of new industries such as green technologies, computer technology, etc.

Think about how many millions of jobs the internet alone has created over the last 20 years.

I realize the hardware is largely manufactured in other countries, but the largest internet/computer technology firms in the country are based in the US, Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Intel etc

You cannot have a gigantic trade deficit like the US has (in 1983 our trade deficit with China was 300 million, now its 300 BILLION! That's a 1000x greater trade deficit in the last 28 years). You cannot produce nothing in a global economy and avoid skyrocketing unemployment, high inflation and economic disaster, hell the Chinese already own half the country and produce half our goods and its only getting worse. I asked for answers and I got them, the US produces absolutely nothing other than internet/computer technology as I already realized.

The CEO makes 1.3 million dollars a year, that's hardly outrageous pay considering he manages the largest auto-manufacturing company in the country, many times in recent years the CEO has cut his pay to $1

America wants to support 3rd world level incomes bc they save a few bucks at the checkout line, then they will enjoy minimum wage jobs with no benefits for the rest of their lives
