it was very subtle. didn't think people knew he said it, and it seems most didn't.

Exactly why we don't need the FCC. People will hear about this that never watched the game...and call to complain they were offended that they overheard a coworker explaining how the word shit was said on ESPN. Next thing you know we'll have a 5 minute delay. Riduculous.

FCC doesn't regulate paid services like ESPN. I wouldn't worry about it. Literally ESPN could just say cuntcuntcuntcunt for 3 hours and pay no fines. They would lose advertising, sure, but they wouldn't pay a dime to the FCC.

It is more of a foul on the production crew. They have delay (usually five seconds) on live TV and radio where they can censor things ("dump" them). Someone was sleeping on the job.

The FCC can fine any network or affiliate as well..not just the one channel..since ESPN ABC and Disney are all intertwined they can be held accountable and policed. NASCAR has had issues with their broadcasts on ESPN in the past. It would be nice if paid services were immune but the mighty hand has reached into all areas in the past decade unfortunately.

                                                      FYI:

The FCC obscenity guidelines have never been applied to non-broadcast media such as cable television or satellite radio. It is widely held that the FCC's authorizing legislation (particularly the Communications Act of 1934 and the Telecommunications Act of 1996) does not enable the FCC to regulate content on subscription-based services, which include cable television, satellite television, and pay-per-view television.

FCC can't fine you on paid Cable or Satellite. So it was on ESPN. Wasn't like it was aired on ABC Sports.
