how much is 1 acre of farmland worth?
or if you had alot of acres and had coal mines offer u money for it, how much would you ask or would you think its worth.

My uncle sold my grandpa's land tonight to the coal mines. I'll go into details later about how much, etc.

But i had to sign as i get part of it. I wanted to decline but literally forced to sign it since everyone else did.

My grandpa turned them down for a reason ever year. He dies and a year later my uncle who is head decides to sell
I wanted us to keep it plus we got a percentage of the leased farmland.

I deal in a lot of land and it just varies. It really just depends on what's being grown and the price of that commodity. If you're talking about a grain farm, it might be worth 10k/acre in Iowa or Nebraska, but only 4k in Kentucky, or 2k in Texas. That's just the difference in the productivity of various regions. Tell me where and what the farm is growing, and I'll show you how to figure it out.

Anywhere from $500 to $25,000 per acre depending on amount of acres you buy and location. An acre of farmland in Montana doesn't worth as much as an acre of farmland in New York.

Hedge funds are buying up farmland everywhere as they know food prices will be going up for the foreseeable future. Should have not sold.

Yeah this question is so vague. It's like asking how much does a house sitting on an acre worth?

My buddies parents just got a million bucks for the rights to dig on their land. They have like 300 acres though.

Where is this land teeteewarrior? What is other land there selling for? Did your family have mineral rights before you sell it? Do you know you could have setup this fairy tale better with just a little research and thought?

Do a google search on the subject in the area your interested in............location and soil type are major factors, but there are many others also.

FARMLAND has been one of the best investments anyone could have partaked in since the turn of the century...................prices have escalated on a consistant basis, some areas that produce good yields on corn have increased dramatically.

There are to many factors to answer your question properly.

Location, use, housing, and the list goes on and on.

No one can force you to sign anything. If you did, you are a fool. Sorry but that's the way it is.

You should never sign anything without fully understanding what it is.

Because it is a contract, there is usually a 48 hour opportunity to back out of the deal, it's called buyers remorse. This is especially true if you have not been paid yet which you have not. You will need to go to title. None of this has happened yet.

So call them up and back out. Plain and simple.DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!!!! They CANNOT SAY THAT!!!! They might try but they are hoping that you are stupid, SO DON'T BE!!!!!
I am happy to help you with this as I do land acquisition all the time however, because I have read so many of your lovable loser responses before and because I can't stand stupid people, you either do what I just said or I am done.
Simple fix or screw it up. Your choice.

                                        you could be very right

but I think hedge funds are more into liquid type assets

they want to hit and run after a set time

they don't want to sit on a number of pieces of land or brick and mortar anything waiting for the market to take it off their hands
