Because once you post a play in this thread, it is considered official. So when you edited that pick with a new one, you were defaulting on that. The only circumstance which you'd be permitted to change a pick, is not only if it was within the right time frame, but if your opponent (Jrich) agrees.

You're right, it isn't stated that you can't edit picks. So from now on if you pick a game at 4pm, you are free to edit it any time you like if your side loses, because afterall, it's not stated/understood that you can't edit picks in a contest selection thread....

But for the future I will make sure no edits are even allowed in these threads.

Alright hows this- it's not not being counted because of breaking a rule, it's not being counted because your opponent did not agree that you should be allowed to change your bet.

The initial pick was changed, and that's the reason that the new one isn't being counted, because you edited that post 3 hours after the fact. It has nothing to do with the new pick being in time, it has to do with the pick you made hours earlier being changed without the agreement of your opponent.
