Cris Weekly Review For the week of April 10th
This week started off with Florida winning the NCAA Championship game, beating UCLA 73-57. Many of our customers started the week with lots of cash in their pockets as Florida was well supported. The Line opened with Florida a 2 point favorite, but closed lower at only 1. Even with the line going the other way, we really needed UCLA as the late money was all for Florida.

With the NCAA Basketball finally over after a long March, we finally had our first full week of Baseball. With teams like the Cubs ‘Sweeping’ the St Louis Cardinals at home results for the first week went in our favor. Over bettors seem to do well in the first week or two, and they wouldn’t be disappointed with the totals generally going more over than under so far. We thought that our job would be a little easier now with the main sport being baseball, but because we do our ‘Live’ second half’s which count from the 6th innings onwards, we have to really keep our eye on all the games to make sure we have our lines up, and if we are late putting one up, our customers are letting us know. They have become extremely popular with our customers.

The big event this past week besides the NCAA final was the US Masters golf. Phil Mickelson fought off challenges from Fred Couples, Tim Clark and a late surging Tiger Woods to win by 2 shots. Mickelson was +875 back in our original markets in early March, but after his win at the Bell South Classic his odds were dropped to +650 and closed at tee off at +550. Mickelson did attract a lot of action but he was a good result for us. Just to win the US Masters, we had approximately $250,000 wagered and an extra $600,000 wagered on match-ups throughout the week. When it comes to the major tournaments it seems bets just come from everywhere. Tim Clark, Fred Couples, Sergio Garcia, Vijay Singh and Jose-Maria Olazabal were all bet to win well over the $250,000-$300,000.

NBA is only 5 games away from completing the regular season. This week was great for us and we can’t wait for the ‘Post’ season to begin with many teams capable of winning the NBA Championship. While NBA was good for us, NHL was good for our customers. After missing one whole season, it seems our bettors are actually doing better than normal with our NHL. I hope everyone ‘backed a winner’ if not, then there is always this week.
