I agree betting heavy juice regularly isn't a good strategy.
But -160 today was worth it with Verlander going. The implied odds from the line is 61.54%, and Verlander entered the game with a 21-5 record (80.77%). There is value there.
It seems like lately a lot of people have been betting against the Tigers just because, which I haven't understood. When you explicitly state you don't have a reason for the bet, it's probably not worth $2k.
Of course, I'm a Detroit fan and the majority of my picks are on Detroit teams, and I'm in profit overall. But even excluding that bias, the Tigers are on fire right now and would be hard for me to bet against no matter what the other side of the line is.Comment -
