I used to hang around Ames because my ex was from there and I thought of it as a corn belt Berkeley. The student body, faculty and townspeople were the least competitive and most politically correct people you will ever find.My guess is that no one there bets on the games because authority figures told them it's illegal.I have never seen per capita spending on team ''Cyclone''memorabilia-merchandise as I have there where everyone buys it for themselves and all their family scattered around the world. It's just a really weird sports atmosphere. They demand no results as far as having winning teams is concerned. You can almost hear in mass after a 55-7 drubbing that the team tried hard and that's the most important thing. It's like the stadium is filled with 50 thousand Mr.Rogers.These people are emotionless, spineless jellyfish. They are the exact opposite of rowdy east coast fans like in Philly where even Santa got pelted with snowballs and booed where they need a court judge and jail in the stadium for hooligan fans.I swear at Iowa State they cheer the other team when they win to show that they are impartial and care.I swear the coaching staff is made up of Phil Donahue and Allan Alda.
Does anyone else know what I'm talking about here about Iowa State? Is there possibly a more bizarre atmosphere at any college in the country when it comes to people being emotionless sheeple fans?
Is there any other schools that anyone has witnessed that behaves this way?
Then the stadium and everything within eyesight is battle ship grey and it's like you are in the old USSR.
