my issue is that over 4 months, i can probably get 20% just depositing points in thad's book and just letting them sit there with no risk at all. here, i can do that, but i can also lose too.

If you win you will be paid +120 or 120 points for every 100 you wager. If you lose you will lose whatever you bet.

You must play every single week of the contest. Miss even 1 pick and you are DQ'd. Same rule for me.

The final standings as posted on BTP will be the official results.

Is it my imagination, or SBR_John has just forfeited? He has not picked anything yet; there are only 2 games left to pick, but The Prick is blocking one option, leaving only 3 possible choices for John.

Funny thing, I pondered my situation in the contest for many hours this week. Being 1.25 points behind John was not easy.

At first glance, I had to beat him by a full unit (4-1 vs 3-2, 3-2 vs 2-3, etc). I found a clever way to increase my chances: Picking many spreads exactly in 3 with + odds, if one of them pushed, I could beat him with only half unit margin. So, his 3-2 (+0.8) would be defeated by my 3-1-1 (+2.1), or his 2-3 (-1.3) would lose to my 2-2-1 (+0.0). Of course, it needs enough + prices. I thought in picking only 3 sides, or even passing completely, but I read contest rules and it was strictly forbidden.

All this strategy was a moot point after John forfeit. Of course, I am not complaining, but it is funny how much thought I put into a $70 prop, when I place higher cash bets without much thinking. Same thing happened with the team contest, SBR contests have so much pride involved that I end using a lot of my time for a relatively small stake.

Thanks Rod... Now I wish I hadn't missed a week but given I'm was near the bottom and John was near the top through the whole contest hard to complain about getting my bet back...
