Let's see how good you know baseball.
Let's see who knows their baseball rules best at sbr.

bases loaded, 2 outs.. batter hits an inside the park homer.. the defensive team appeals that the runner who was on 1st missed touching 3rd base, they win the appeal..

    how many runs count?

    1
    2
    3
    4.

i will only give the answer and tell you who was right after a bunch of responses..

I'd say 2 but then again would it matter if the guy who came from first missed third before or after the guy at second touched home so it could be only one, dont really know just guessing here

Assuming the appeal is made correctly, then two runs score. This is covered in Rule 7.10 of the MLB rulebook, at least that's how I interpret it. And I don't think the fact it was an inside the park homer really matters.

Actually, it seems to be pretty cut-n-dried in Rule 7.12..."If upon appeal the preceding runner is the third out, no runners following him shall score."

Sorry Nicky, just checking myself. I get a lot of MLB confused after umping Little League all these years and those rules are in many cases very different.

Nicky, I'm not ever sure I can answer the second question without knowing if the umpire upheld or denied the defense's appeal.

                                        The answer is 11

Batter runs the count full (5 pitches) a runner is then picked off first to end the inning. That same batter retuns to bat again and draws a walk (6 pitches)
