Swede,this just happened this weekend in Minnesota in the area you said your dad lives.A bunch of 40 something year olds were staying at a resort and got really blitzed.They drove a golf cart from the resort to town to see the fireworks display.Guys were piled all over the cart and the driver took a corner too sharp and one of the guys fell off hitting his head and killing himself.Now the driver is up on vehicular homicide charges.I thought you said once that your dad owned a resort?Hope it wasn't this one because if the resort owner owned the cart and let the drunks drive it,they are probably toast too!

Oh god. Honestly, I would not have handled it as well as his wife. At least not right away. First off, I know how bad depression can get and I know the warning signs to look for when decidind when to commit a loved one. However, if it got to this point....I would call those closest to me and ask them to come stay with me and arrange the funeral. Then I would start attending some SERIOUS therapy sessions. Oh, and there's no way in hell I would stay in that house.

Oh, my dad doesn't live there, but the rest of his siblings and their families do. We used to stay at Izaty's every summer...but I heard that's shut down, so I don't think we'll be doing that anymore. I haven't heard of anyone in my family getting in an accident, so I think I'm in the clear. What town was it? Most of my family is in the Isle area.

I must say I'm dissapointed with the offensive remarks I've read on this site today. I married a woman who looks like Willam Perry in drag, Payton Manning in drag would be a serious upgrade for me, so to see derrogatory comments about someone who would be an upgrade is disturbing to say the least.

I know depression is a serious disease...but I have little sympathy for people like him who have a loving person willing to help. If he stopped taking his meds, his downward spiral is his own damn fault. Unfortunately, his widow and baby daughter are the ones that have to hurt. His pain is over. Selfish.

I wouldn't have cut him down. Let the cops do that. They would have found me as far wawy from the body as possible.
