Those types of games I thought were only accomplished by Greg Maddox in his prime.

An AL game too! NL games seem to go faster usually with the pitcher spot, I noticed it was over at 1155 and it started 1005 so that is an an hr 50 minutes but I noticed it at 1155 I don't know exactly when it ended for all I know it was an hour and a half or 1hr 40 min

Roy Halladay works real fast, but I dont know if he has cracked 2 hours, that is incredible in AL

When you have two minor league line-ups, courtesy of too many teams in the majors with not enough talent to go around (see: Clement being in the Big Show), you'll have 2 hour games ...

(I'm not saying I could hit better than Clement, by the way ... I just think I could make outs as well as him)

Halladay and Buerhle had a 1h39m game a couple of years ago. Sox won 1-0.

Just stopping by this thread, I can tell you as a bit of an MLB stat freak that the shortest game ever took 51 minutes. I don't know how the hell this was pulled off, but it's a fact. Not even a bloody hour.....

good call capwizards been doing well recently, dam stump 51 minutes!? and this was a 9 inning contest or a game called official? 9inning game that went 51 minutes you'd be talking about an average of 3 minutes each half inning

duchscherer is unbelievable, haven't seen a pitcher mow-down major league hitters like that in a while.

We routinely went to games in the 2:00 to 2:15 time range when I was a kid. Hell, the 24-inning contest I saw in 1968 was only six hours or so. I spent almost that long watching a 17-inning game on Sunday between the Astros and Braves.

Thing is that you hear some people talk like all of the games were just two hours long back then, and that simply wasn't the case. Not sure that the experience of the players really has anything to do with it. No pitching changes certainly helps in any game, and the umpire can surely help dictate the pace if he wants.

And the score was something like 4-2. LOL

One would think record would be a 1-0 game.

Less games were on TV back in the day, so no need to wait 10 minutes between innings. Also no reliref "specialists" and more Complete Games meant less pitching changes, and few super-fast runners meant fewer pick-off attempts.
