Arian Foster could be out 3-4 weeks (need advice)

I have Ben Tate on my team as well but the Texans coach says that Derrick Ward is still their #2 back....what to do?

I have a feeling Tate will be the #2 by the time the regular season starts.

Yeah it looks to me like they are gonna make them play for it with Thursday's preseason game.

Though Ward currently holds the #2 back slot, Tate has outperformed him in the preseason.

If Foster is not ready, expect Ward to start game 1. He has the experience and did well with the limited touches he had last year. Tate will see some action and possibly more touches if he can run the way he's been flashing lately and pickup the blocks. I have Foster in one of my leagues and just added Ward today.

It's not even a gamble I have lots of depth, if Tate doesn't play I can always switch it up later

If i was you i would hope the Texans keep him out even longer then necessary so that he'll be healthy for a good fantasy playoff run.

Ben Tate looked really good this preseason. The reason Kubiak probably isn't touting him as the #1 is b/c Tate has pretty much been in the doghouse with the coaching staff since the beginning of last season. It might be some type of mental game to keep Tate in his place. The way Tate has been running though, he'll end up getting the majority of carries if Foster is out.
Pay attention to the Chris Johnson situation. If Johnson doesn't sign, keep an eye on Javon Ringer. He could be a good fill in until Foster is back and i'm sure he's a FA in your league. Ringer looked good last season when he had a chance to play.
