Why is Parra coming out of the pen in this game? There's no audio for the COL/MIL game in the sportsbook. Is it because he'll be missing a start due to the Sabathia trade? They can't seriously be taking him out of the rotation in favor of Dave Bush and Seth McClung can they? Ned Yost isn't that stupid I would hope...

#2I was wondering the same thing Monkey...I am watching the game and they didn't say anything about it but looking at their press pass on mlb.com they have the next 3 games listed as Sabathia, Sheets, and Bush. Doesn't seem logical to pull Parra out of the rotation with his current numbers...Sabathia, Parra, and Sheets would be a pretty decent part of the rotation.Comment -

#3I would think McClung would probably be demoted back to the pen since he spent most of the year there anyway. However, I think he may be more deserving of the spot than Bush. If that's the case, I'm wondering why Yost didn't just move Parra up to start today instead of McClung.Comment -

Parra's still in the rotation. He was scheduled to start Tuesday, but obviously now CC is taking that spot, freeing up Parra to give them some work tonight. He's slated to start Friday now that Suppan's on the DL. Parra was the easy choice to push back a few days considering he's a young pitcher with past shoulder problems who's on pace to shatter his previous career high in IP at any level.Comment -

#5Ahh. Wasn't aware that Suppan was placed on the DL for Sabathia. It will be interesting to see what Yost does when Suppan returns after the break. He may be considering split starts in the fifth spot between Bush and McClung, depending on the matchups, according to Sporting News.Comment -

#6Rotation should be Sheets, CC, Para, Suppan, and Bush. It is absurd to think that Seth McClung is anything but a long reliever/mop-up duty reliever. This charade of him starting has gone on long enough.
Only Ned Yost would need time to ponder this decision about who to take out of the rotation. Why would you keep a starter who averages about 5 innings a start in your rotation. Basically that means when McClung starts, you'll need about 4 innings from your bullpen to complete the game. That doesn't sound like a good business model to me. Maybe a spot start here and there but this guy is not a starter at all.Comment -

#7Previous to the last month, Bush was notorious for never making it through six. The difference is, McClung generally leaves the game with the Brewers still in the game. Bush always seems to give up the big inning. McClung really hasn't had much of a chance. Yet, in his starts, the Brewers are 5-3 and the O/U is 1-7. I certainly think that shows more promise than Bush. McClung has comparable numbers to Bush already, while Bush has had years to be groomed into a starter...Comment -

#8Too bad they lost Gallardo for the season. I guess if he didn't go down there wouldn't have been as much motivation to obtain Sabathia, but a potential front 4 consisting of Sheets, CC, Gallardo and Parra would have really been something.Comment -

#9Absolutely. I was saying the very same thing yesterday. Unfortunately, it looks as though they will be losing Sheets and Sabathia to free agency. It would be interesting to see just how good the club would be with everyone together and healthy. I guess we'll never know.Comment
