I will be in chicago next week and I was thinking about going to a White Sox game... what is the best way to get to US Cellular from the airport area hotels?

Also is the White Sox stadium in a rough area?

Wrigley stadium is in a 20X better neighborhood and actually has bars to go to when the cubs are down 5 in the first inning.


And let it be known I'm a Sox fan...But go to much more games at Wrigley, because the convenience....And I live about 25 minutes from Us Cellular and 1 hour from Wrigley.

Blue line from the airport, then take the Red line to right across the street from wrigley (addison).

Forgot the name of the stop on the Blueline.

Those are L trains, not sure if there is faster routes, but that'll be about 10 bucks for the ride.


Most of the bars outside of wrigley are decent and yes fine to go by yourself....There are no bars really outside of Us Cellular.

No problem...If you aren't going to a game straight from the airport, then just look for a map of the RED Line and that takes you right across the street to Wrigley Field...I just hop on the train from near my work and then walk to the L train and that goes straight to stadium, and I can drink all I please and not have to worry about driving or taxis.

i'm not so sure us cellular is in a "much worse" neighborhood than wrigley.
both are kind of rough, wrigley seems like spanish harlem to a milwaukee guy like me, but why live your life in fear? i have been treated decently at both wearing brewers stuff.

even in the early-mid 90s when the brewers were in the same division as the white sox and gangs were more prevalent, i would routinely go down to old comiskey/new comiskey with no problems. one time a crossing guard held me back and said "everyone can cross but the brewers fan" and we all had a laugh about it. that's about as rough as it got other than some taunts.

still better than minnesota, i went to target field for a brewers series this year, and even when the brewers blew a big lead and lost there were no taunts or anything. it was pathetic, like the twins hadn't even won - c'mon fans! i would've rather been heckled!

i would ALWAYS rent a car and pay for parking. train/bus/taxi have always let me down, with how cheap rental cars are ($20/day) it's more than worth it vs. the hassle you get with any other form of transportation as long as you're not planning on drinking too much.

No way, not in Chicago. Red line is 2.25 and takes u anywhere u need to go in city, from wrigley to downtown to us cellular
