When will SBR put my chess picks on front page?

Also, cannot find chess lines tonight. If anyone sees any anywhere, let me know. I need the money.

mathdotcom does his homework and he singlehandedly forced Pinny to put their chess lines out later.

And his writeups are great. It's like reading an analysis of a "major" sporting event.

                Wood,

I must respectfully disagree. Bookmakers spend little time on making lines on events like chess - the lines are not as sharp as the major sports. A chess expert/specialist like Mathy can find holes in those lines.

I would bet weather patterns if I could turn a consistent profit. Betting on bases and football may be glamorous but you're competing with the best.

Maybe I could get paid to make their lines..

                  Slicky, you tailing my picks?

I once capped an Azerbaijani soccer game. It was more fun capping athletes that run instead of capping brain cells that sit on a chair.

Can't believe they posted draw lines on rapid chess games. It's like having a line:

After 10 mins of play, will the Lakers and Celtics have different scores? -135

                            "cannot find chess lines tonight"

                            For what? Dortmund is over.

However, I do think you could quite profitably bet all the "over 38.5 moves" for the WC match lines. In a 12 game match, neither player is going to be wasting whites with short draws in the traditional "feeling each other out", and these two are unlikely to be blowing each other out in under that. By comparison, in the 2006 match Kramnik-Topalov, only one game (assuming you don't count the forfeit) was under 38.5 moves and it was 38 moves. The +360 on a 12 game draw seems rather inflated to me as well - its not hard at all to see these two swapping one or two wins each.

For the record, I do watch your picks, and while I don't always agree, there is sound logic behind most of them, and agree that people such as you or myself are obviously going to be vastly superior in realizing the correct line than someone at Pinnacle.

Asking for your peaks to be put on front page after just two months on the board is too much. Guys like LT have earned their stripes to be able to put picks on front page. When you cap 1000 chess games then you can request it again.

They had lines on Short-Karjakin's rapid match yesterday. Was hoping they might pick up some other international tournament. You're almost certainly right about the over 38.5s, but I am waiting until closer to October. I agree that they will push with white, since a 12-game match is fairly short. But after 20-30 moves, if it becomes equalish, I can see a handful of draws, especially against a Kramnik Petroff. If you bet every Over, though, you're almost sure to come out ahead. As the match approaches, I'll look at their stats closely.

I might also like to wait and see what sort of openings they get into. Maybe Kramnik would even abandon 1. ... e5. Maybe Anand won't even play 1. e4.

Definitely agree on the +360 12-game draw. Should be more like +200-250, though Kramnik might steal a win and hold on the rest of the way. I like Kramnik to win if he gets a 1-game lead more than if Anand does.

I'm curious what picks you disagreed on. I've certainly made some big mistakes. For example, I've anticipated a quick draw or a symmetric opening but been shocked with super sharp play from both players.

Pavy, there are plenty of solid capers on SBR. I just want a small link in the corner that blends in with the background.

Topalov is also a different player than Anand. He's super stubborn and plays on in some ridiculous positions. And far less likely to take/offer a draw in an equal position. Anand will push when he has an advantage and slow down when it doesn't materialize. As for Kramnik, the type of advantages he gets are long-term and so he often pursues them into endgames. That's why I like the games with Kramnik as white to go over.
