I am going to try to clear 1000 dollars a month this football season. I have never done this before, but I think it is realistic this year. Just curious, what are some of the forums goals for the football season? How much do you want to clear this football season without being unrealistic based on past performance?

#10Originally posted by seaborneqJJ, I thought you were a big roller. I even read you were a millionaire. And all you are looking for is a couple of grand and a breakeven? What am I missing here? Plus you were saying you don't bet less than 500 dollars a game.
I just want to make a profit so even betting $500 a game and winning like 2 dimes for season is a success.Comment -

I am going to buy nfl and college picks from a capper who has hit 60% the last two years. He releases about 200 football picks a year total so if I can manage 120 wins and 80 losses laying -110 a game (taking away what I am paying for the picks), I would hit my goal of profiting about $2,500 for the season. I learned years ago I can't cap football to save my life, so this is my only chance.Comment -

#15Originally posted by seaborneqAre you going to subtract the price of the picks from your profits? Or is that the cost of business?
Yes, I am subtracting the price of the picks. If I managed to win 120 out of 200 with this guy laying -110 on every game, that would be a profit of 3,200. Taking out the cost of $750 (the "early bird price" for the picks), that would put me at $2,450 in profit. I might see if one of my friends who gambles occassionally wants to split the price of picks (thus increasing my potential profit), but I doubt he will. Oh well, worth a shot!Comment -

www.themoneylinejournal.com (this is just one guy that I use, they are a few others) Titus over at madjacks is awesome at baseball.
Also anybody that is in this business for real will tell you that if you break even after a season if is fine with them. Sports betting is not an easy thing to do and most people lose. Thats why sportsbooks are in business.Comment -

Is 1000 dollars a month unrealistic? I thought with all the big time high rollers on this board that it would just be a lowball number.Comment -

Pinny's NFL lines are as sharp as they come.
Unless you have a solid well tested model and/or are betting openers, forget it.Comment -

#30Originally posted by Justin7Look for books that have 2-teamers in NFL at +100, or 3 teamers at +180. A LOT of books have +180 on 3-teamers. The volatility is higher, but the EV is comperable. Make sure you understand money management before betting these.
