Why is TB - 210 Favorites Tonight???
    what a strange, strange line

these 2 teams have basically the same record and while Price is a better pitcher, the difference isn't drastic (about 1.40 in ERA)

I thought this game would be about - 140 for TB. WTF??

Penny is no good on the road and Price is TB top pitcher. Plus TB has been playing good ball and their winning streak was just snapped.

detroit has won 4 straight themselves and I would argue James Shields is TB's top pitcher

I just don't get how you can have a -200 favorite between 2 teams with identical records

-210 is a little excessive, but as a Tigers fan I can let you know why I threw a lot on the Rays. First, Penny isn't good anywhere and Price is way better. Second, Leyland is throwing out three backups in our lineup (Maggs, Inge, Raburn). 3rd, the Tigers have won 4 in a row and hate long winning streaks.

books probably dont want any action on it. Or theyre willing to gamble that Det doesnt win. TB looks like a no brainer play but who wants to lay -210? so you lay off or bet Detroit and hope. But losing isnt an option so it is a no play for most guys.

His ERA this season is not representative of his talent level. Just negative variance.

You value short term stats way too much. Just like you think going 30-10 is god-like.

                    -140?!

There's a serious difference between Price and Penny.

And don't look in ERA. It's a very misleading stat.

                              Forget the price.

What I dont understand is - it says on Donbest Weather that the game is played in a dome.

Now scoreboard shows that the game is currently under rain delay ??

I realize it's just one of the numbers that you can use to evaluate pitchers but I was only using it as an example

still talking about ERA is showing the mentality of people. WHIP is a much more relative stat, too bad more people realize it now.

David Price is a top flight pitcher, no doubt.

His WHIP this season is even lower than it was last season.
