    More trivia bullshit!
2nd 50pt Question was: "How many players on a football field during the 1800's? I answered 25. The answer that was listed as the correct answer was "25"! There's no fuk'in way you could have an "odd" number of players on the field!

Plus afterward, when I went and researched football from the 1800's, the original number of players from the 1800's, it was "reduced" from 15 to 11. 15 wasn't even one of the damn multiple choice answers! Fuk'in joke, the trivia on here!

My question was "Which player was not on the 1990 Cincinnati Reds"

    Chris Sabo
    Norm Charlton
    Jose Rijo
    John Franco

    An MLB question

Id be surprised if there was one MLB question in their entire database that I didn't know

mike, can you go to your trivia history and post the exact wording of the question you received? I just want to see if it's the same one someone else asked about before, before I forward it on to Admin.

My trivia timed out after 2 seconds on the second question. It said my explorer did not send an answer in time when I answered it in 2 seconds. I thought it was funny. Figured I was probably wrong.

Thanks Mike. I had assumed that was the same question I was thinking of but wanted to make sure.

The answer is actually 25 per side but I'll forward it on to Admin to see if they think it's worded too vaguely.

This is from the Rutgers website: http://www.touchdownclub.rutgers.edu/history.htm

"Rutgers University and its neighbor, Princeton, played the first game of intercollegiate football on Nov. 6, 1869, on a plot of ground where the present-day Rutgers gymnasium now stands in New Brunswick, N.J. Rutgers won that first game, 6-4.

The game, which bore little resemblance to its modern-day counterpart, was played with two teams of 25 men each under rugby-like rules, but like modern football, it was “replete with surprise, strategy, prodigies of determination, and physical prowess,” to use the words of one of the Rutgers players."

I made a dumb noob mistake - Which quarterback signed a 5 year deal with the Chicago Bears in 2006.

I chose GOD DAMN REX GROSSMAN - who was probably still at ******* florida then. I just went with the one that looked right and skipped right over Griese. Call me a complainer but come on for 10 points, ask me what color the Celtics jerseys are or something damn.

If that's the case then Shari, then the correct answer should have been 50! Or like you said the question should have been worded to reflect total players or how many players per side.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying. I thought I got it wrong, so I went and looked it up. The only information I could find, until Shari posted what she found was 15 players reduced to 11. So when none of the multiple choice answers were 15, that is when I started the thread. Sbr John took care of it and the matter is resolved. Thanks.

whats with these questions about football in the 1800's.

In what year was the most unpopular football game ever held: the "block game"?
                                      1930
                                      1809
                                      1990
                                      1881

um, how are we supposed to know something that happened before football was even football?

oh well. just saying, 1800's questions?

My FIRST question was pretty hard. It was what MLB team playedi n Cuba in 1999.. Hard to remember that far back. I just guessed the Marlins because that makes the most sense, but it was Baltimore. I don't remember that.
