You said it all. No matter how Cy Youngish the starting pitchers are, 6.5 is a cruel total. For one, no one knows how far the starting pitchers will go. Anything can happen in a game.

if it was 7.5 would the people that like the over still think over was the play ?
whether it tilts over or not to 4 - 3 , 5 - 3 , or is the simple 3 - 2 result has nothing to do with the actual o/u being 6.5 or 7 or 7.5 or 8 . whether it tilts over the mountain or stays on the edge has nothing to no relevance to the posted total unless it is fixed/dirty ..

the games that finish at 5 runs total for the game where the total is 8.5 are no different than any other total really ..
A . team gets hit with runners in scoring position
B . team fails to produce with risp ..
C . no mystery that people on the right call in these kind of lines overplay the result ..
if they get the big hits in key situations or they dont is always an AFTER THE FACT OCCURENCE .
we dont truly know if they actually will or not ... lol

i guess it is no different than the low nba totals or nfl totals . we see them and we say damn thats a low total . and we sit there pulling our hair out because no one can score and we wonder why we were so stupid to take the over .
we see low totals and compare them to other higher totals with other matchups and say wow thats nothing they can score that by themselves ..
i have done many over 6.5 in mlb and it was 2 - 1 nature results , even 1 - 0 . 4 - 0 , 3 - 2 .
who knows what to expect in mlb in one pitcher doing really bad making all the under people look silly .. who knows .
i did under 7 . was sniffing a no no watch going on .

this is true because what do you say when low or high totals come true ?

this was and is a random event not comparable with any label . man gets outs or he surenders runs . guy gets big hits or he flys out > not a trap before the fact just a bust with the true #s after the fact .
when games go over really high totals and go low in very low totals they are each random and individual results in their own little seperate world .

to really tell you the truth >>> it is rookie thinking to think a line is a trap because it is so much higher or lower than other games on the board .

just because one game here or there went over the low total or under the high total is absolutely no indication of anything but that 1 game .
