How much does luck determine whether your a winner or loser? I've had plenty of bad beats in sports this year. Over thirty 8th inning losses. So either the bad beat god is paying me back or I'm lucky. This has happened twice for me with my AFL picks this year. I had the OVER 112.5.

This was the totals run for Colorado vs. San Jose today

as far as betting most of your wins come down to luck especially in football, turnovers, ect.

Baseball might be a little more skill because not much of a team sport.

I don't really understand why people bet full games in baseball. The reason I say that is because the vast majority of the time you have no idea of who will be pitching in the later innings. That's why I think the odds for the 2h of almost every game is pick 'em. You might as well play roulette and bet on red or black as pick the second half of almost all baseball games, imho.

Betting the first half of baseball games is a totally different story and you can really handicap that though. That's why if you look at the lines you'll see a team that's a -200 favorite is like -190 to win the first half and like a pick in the second half. I don't think anyone can really handicap the second half of a baseball game too often, it's a toss up and thus a pick 'em for almost every game.

What you may find that the second halves are killing you because handicapping it is no better than handicapping a coin flip most of the time. I'm new to MLB betting but my plan is to stick to first halves for the reasons I just stated.

I've never thought about it that way. I'll start keeping a record of the score 1st5 vs Game. By the way. I also won a couple in late innings, most recently Arizona which in itself doesn't happen too often. Hoping it will all equal itself out in the end.

If that's what you're gonna do than you're counting on luck to win and thus you'll be doomed to only win because you're lucky, imho.
