betting against good teams is a losing proposition. both teams are good.

Off the bat before looking at stats, I liked the Cards. But now, I think the Cubs are the better play. Lilly has had success in his career against the Cards. Lohse has struggled a lot versus the Cubs. In fact, his worst loss this season came at home versus the Cubs.

i know lohse struggled against the cubs but hes been hottt and will continue to be
i dont trust lilly in big game situations at all.....had a great game against the giants but today is a new day
i hate to go against my cubbies but i think the play today is the cards

Lohse has been good. But from my experiences of capping, the pitcher's history against a team is more indicative of how they will perform than any current streak they are on. Lohse is a great pitcher, going 5-0 in June, but he is due for a loss and the Cubs seem like the most likely candidate to provide one. Lilly has also been good recently.
Lohse went 3-0 in April and posted a 2.36 ERA that month. Then in his first start of May, he gave up 8 runs in 6 innings versus the cubs. This seems like a similar situation. The winner of that game was Ted Lilly. History repeats itself.

If you made me wager on the game I would take the low price at home with STL.

Hello. You know I told a guy this same thing a couple of weeks back on here and he replied "What the hell does the previous match between the 2 teams and pitchers a month ago have to do with the match today". I just laughed to myself when he said that. He picked the over in that game and I picked the under because the previous match in the game was an under. I won with my under pick and the guy was straching his head as to how the game could have went on the under...

I like the cubbies with Lilly.
Cubs win this game and possibly sweep this series.

Good luck to those few wise people who are on the Cubs.
