Unfortunately that's not the way it works in this shithole country (sorry Cooch). If one parent puts up a fuss, it all goes to shit. Even if my mom were still alive for example and she kicked the bucket tomorrow, I'd have to go to court to get permission to go to Canada for her funeral and bring my child. Such bullshit but I guess understandable if you're on the other side. But in the long run it worked out because I got permission to move and that's what I really wanted in the end.
