#2Rounders is one of my favourite movies, so I would have to say no to that one. Most movies about gambling do suck though, because they try to preach that gambling is bad.
Just like films about drug trafficking. Just once I'd like to see a drug dealer get to the top and stay there, immune from prosecution and adversaries, living like a king like they do all the time in the real world.

#5Here's a plot.
Guy gets layed off his job.
Loyal girlfriend takes a low paying job (because she's dumb as a hammer, but hot) to make ends meet....almost.
Guy with extra time on his hands, stumbles across a gambling forum on the internet. Only mildly interested, but curious, he continues to read said gambling forum daily. He goes to the library and researches gambling concepts. Guy continues to locate other gambling sites, peruse them and actually opens an account offshore to place small wagers....of course, unbeknownst to his now hard working, but still dumb girlfriend.
Now somewhat eager to try his new "hobby", guy places small wagers and with help and advice from gambling forum posters, he starts winning. Confidence is now running at a high level and guy decides he could make money even faster using parlays. Guy now places a rather large wager, much larger than normal (based upon some idiot posting a "lock" thread). Of course, the reliever blows a save in the 9th, nearly busting the guy. It doesn't matter that the reliever was 32-0 in save opportunities and his team hadn't lost a game in the 9th since Ty Cobb was playing. The guy is devastated, and nearly broke again.
The guy spends so much time on the computer, that his girfriend is getting restless. She now makes noises about him staying at home too much and not looking for a JOB! They agrue, money is tight, and she's coming home later and later as the "people" (guys) at work are going out afterwards for a drink.
Finally, our guy learns how to model. He has now spent weeks learning his new vocation. He has learned to manipulate Excel, write code, scrape data, and minimize his program maintence time. He devours the works of mathematicians, becoming proficient using log5 and probability equations. He masters the nuances of Sabermetrics. He becomes better at extracting value from his plays and he now only places bets with positive EV........his bankroll grows! So as to keep his dumb (but hot) girlfriend happy, he takes small payouts from the books, telling her it's unemployment money.
Seasons change and guy now has to learn the intracacies of betting different sports. His now honed money managemnet skills pay off as he can now profitably 'cap different sports. His bankroll continues to grow and his involvement with several internet gambling forums has resulted in a relationship with some savy players. These relationships have allowed him to gleen years of experience in a relatively short time period. Our guy is bright, and his bankroll grows and grows, over the next couple of years.
Dumb (but hot) girlfriend has now lost admiration for the guy. She makes references to "leaving for a while" or giving him the "it's me, not you" thing. Guy now has all the tools he needs to continue his new vocation, with or without her. She moves in with her sister. He goes to Vegas regularly and brings home "pockets full". On one of his trips, he runs into some old college buds and their bevy of sweeties (most of them dumber than his girlfiend). They party together at the pool and reminesce of old times. Guy gives a few tips and his friends make enough money to pay for their entire trip. They press him for more plays, but guy says it was really only luck and he can't pick any better than they can. They continue to hound him and he mixes in some "iffy" plays. Of course they bet over their heads on these plays, some win and some lose.........they stop pestering him.
It's decision time for our guy. He can now make a living off his newly honed skills. His bets are +EV. His bankroll is large enough to support his lifestyle. His sports investments are paying off at a credible rate, his 'capping skills are impeccible, his money management skills are supurb........ He is now a PROFESSIONAL GAMBLER!
His inquisitive nature now produces a way of life for the guy. He hasn't worked in over 2 years, but he has more money than ever, but his credit is low. He approaches a friend who owns a construction company. He offers to pay the construction owner his salary, if he will hire him. The guy offers to pay the construction owner $2000 per week, plus the owners portion of taxes. The owner would then pay the guy a $2000/week salary. The construction owner agrees and for several months our guy pays for his own salary, plus medical and taxes and his credit score soars. He buys a foreclosed home in Las Vegas. On the golf course in a gated community, it was orignially sold for $1M, he gets it for $430,000.....all cash!
Now stable, with cash and income, our guy gets tired of dating (porking) boozing tourists for one-night outings or the cute cart girl at the golf course. He longs for his girlfiend. He finds out she has turned a temp job at a local realestate office into a will paying regional underwiriting position. He learns from her friends how much she misses him but has devoted herself to her career. Our guy has a plan....
He flies to LA, rents a limo and directs the driver to his girfriends workplace. He take the elevator to her floor and amid the cubicles, he spots her. Co-workers cautiously stare as he strides toward her. She looks up at the last moment and can hardly contain herself as he quickly picks her up and walks toward the door (officer and a gentleman style). Down the stairs they go, into the limo, off to the airport headed Eastward. The last scene shows them in the spa sipping champagne, with the lights of the Vegas strip shimmering in the distance and the sun slowly setting behind Mt. Charleston......
For added viewing value:
1) add the scene where guy gets "jumped" by 3 hoods coming out of a casino and all of his money is stolen.
2) add the scene where guy gets turned down for a ticket writers job
3) add the scene where the guy buys the construction owner the "boat of his dreams" for helping him.
4) add the scene where the guy loses a "lump sum" to an offshore book that went bellyup.
For added sentimental value:
1) add the scene where guys mother dies, early on, and he can't afford to go to her funeral.
Hell, for that matter, add any scenario you want.......this only a gambling forum!
Good Luck on your action....Comment -

One of the worst movies I've ever seen..gambling or otherwise. So unrealistic....like a tout is going to refund the player and bury himself if his pick loses
Such a shitty script not even Pacino could save it
