    Dan Uggla for MVP?
Anybody think he got a chance to win the MVP award this year? With the way he been hitting and if the streak continue he might have a pretty good chance.

33 game hitting streak and the guy is still only batting .232

Anything short of breaking the streak means 0% chance at the MVP.

LOL are you serious, MVP is a season long award not a 1/4 of the season award.

            No.

He was batting somewhere in the range of .125 before this hitting streak. Good performance of late, but unless he breaks that hitting streak record, he won't be considered at all.

Yes they are a playoff team he is going to lead the league in homers hitting in a pitchers park and plays 2nd base. He is not the MVP right now but is the favorite because of how he is playing.

no but give the guy some credit. He's having an amazing run. He's not only getting hits, he's getting multiple hits in games and is extending the streak in his first at bat.

                      Actually, he's really not.

17 of the 33 he has had one hit and he has only had a 3+ hit game ONCE.

He's also raised his average from .178 to .232 (not a 100-jump as some suggest)

If raising your average by 60-points makes you an MVP candidate, then I guess Carl Crawford should win in the American League, right?

The MVP should only be awarded to someone who hits safely in at least 125 games, has 79 multi-hit games, hits 56 home runs, has 152 RBI's and a batting average of .381.

For Uggla to win MVP he has to break Joe's streak. Lead the NL in Home Runs and he needs to move up in RBI's, especially batting clean up. He is 27th in the NL in RBI's with 61, 2nd in the NL in Home Runs.

There have been others players to have a hitting streak over 30 games. How many have won MVP?

According to STATS LLC, Uggla's homer was his 49th hit in the 33-game streak. He had 55 hits in his first 86 games of 2011.
