Skybook was rude and pissed me off
I have had a very negative experience with Skybook.

In February I phoned them to inquire about opening an account. I told the host that I would be depositing via Neteller but was concerned about their lack of free withdrawal options. As far as I'm concerned, I'm paying the sportsbook enough in vig that I don't appreciate being taxed if I'm fortunate enough to win. He advised me that I could later make a free transfer to another sportsbook if I wished. This sounded good so I made a few deposits totaling $4K.

In the weeks to follow, I ran up my balance to $8K+. Since the basketball season is almost over I decided to transfer some money out. Upon making the request, I was told that a sportsbook transfer wouldn't be allowed. I explained to them what the host had previously told me, but they refused to allow it. I was told that I have to withdraw the entire balance to Neteller, with a $15 fee per $2500.

I told them that they are a bunch of lying crooks. The next day I couldn't log in to my account. I called and found out it was closed. Further, they told me that they'll only give me back $2500 of MY MONEY per day, and they'll take $15 out of every chunk.

First they lie to me to get me to deposit. Then they won't let me play anymore, force me to withdraw and make me pay $60 for it. This is total bullshit.

    Ricky,

Skybook states that they closed your account due to the vulgar language used during the livechat. It's possible they would have accommodated you had you been respectful.

Skybook also says that you were made aware that b2b transfers were not available when funds come in via Neteller. I suggested that they cover your fees for the amount you had in your account at the time you were notified.

If you have the date of the livechat when you were told b2bs would be available it may be helpful. Currently, there is no record of you being told this option would be available.

OK, this is a general point rather than anything specific to this case but time and time again I can't believe the disrespect which people show to CS operatives at sportsbooks.

In the great proportion of disputes, the answer you're getting from the CS is either their (perhaps incorrect) interpretation of the company rules or simply them relaying information on behalf of a management decision. Being shitty with them just isn't on.

If you can't get an answer from a CS clerk, ask for another one. If you still can't get an answer then ask to speak to their manager. If you are still getting nowhere then get someone like Bill to intervene on your behalf. There's never excuse to give someone crap for just doing their job.

I don't have much to say about the specific issues. Skybook is completely open about their Neteller withdrawal fees - no news there. This thing about book-to-book transfers doesn't seem to be going far. After Bill's comments it seems unclear what happened, but maybe a mistake was made and you can work with Bill on it. In any case, this all seems pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.

What I am impressed with is Skybook standing up for their employees. This is not the first time I have heard of them booting someone for being abusive to CS staff. I'm sure those are not the greatest jobs in the world but it must give the employees a good feeling that management values them like that.

I give Skybook a for that.

skybook does have book 2 book transfer. so when can one use the book 2 book transfer?

So what good is b2b transfer if you can't use it?
I'm just trying to understand how b2b can be use, I'm not arguing or agreeing with the player.

B2b is listed as a deposit option. Funds can also be withdrawn by b2b if the depsoit came in that way. If the player wins well beyond the amount deposited Skybook may offer b2bs.

              Ricky,

Skybook has applied a $65 free-play to your acount to compensate for any miscommunication. If you have any other questions you should call and ask for Skybook's GM, Keith. Skybook will close your account again if vulgar language is used.

Classy. Add a plus to my impression of Skybook. And another one for not descending to the level of vulgarities.

while I don't advocate using profanity, I feel rickysteve's pain...it is clear on their website that they allow book to book transfers...it is also my opinion that skybook doesn't like winners at all, and will do their best to get small chunks of their money back through $15 charges...it is completely bush that they don't offer free payouts, but they do advertise this...I do think the book to book transfer option is a little misleading as it's left at the books discretion and you have to have a balance of at least $2000...

why is it that when a book is somewhat bush league, we label them a "square" or "recreational" book?...I'm really not sure...skybook is a B+ in my mind, nothing more, nothing less...

Ricky we all get upset and maybe go a little too far. Give these guys a chance. We have known them for years and have had scores of players give us feedback on them. They want to do whats right for you so how about giving them a chance?

Well, if skybook has an issue with profanity, I'm certainly glad that I don't have an account there. I'm sure I'd be posting here about them in a matter of weeks if they try to take the P.C. approach with me.

You're right, there is no excuse for being profane. However, I was very angry with the entire situation. The customer service manager was completely unwilling to seek a reasonable resolution to the matter and I was incredibly frustrated by their treatment. If you read my entire customer service log, you would see how cordial I have always been with their agents. I have even given them glowing praise on this board.

As recounted in the original post, I phoned them before I opened an account and the host advised me that I could avoid the Neteller fees by making a sportsbook transfer. I truly believe that he intentionally deceived me in order to make his sale.

When calling Skybook, they state that all phone calls are recorded so they probably have the conversation saved. If nothing else, this experience has taught me that I need to make my own recordings of my calls, which I now do.

taping your phone calls is a good idea...never had thought of that...I don't mean to be to hard on skybook, but they are already a full juice shop and in business little ticky-tack things bother customers...I'm just spoiled with free payouts from pinnacle, mansion, matchbook, betcris and betjamaica...I just don't see any reason why skybook can't at least do one payout at $15 or even $25 for an infinite ammount...the $15 per $2500 just makes me mad...opens up an old wound with these guys...
